What to know before you start.
Can my child just end focus?
No. Ending early takes the BlueTag, which stays with you, or your parent PIN. Without a PIN, there is an emergency exit for real emergencies that works only three times.
Which apps disappear, and what stays?
You choose which apps disappear during focus, for example TikTok, Instagram, YouTube or games. Every other app stays, and your child can always make calls.
How is this different from Apple's Screen Time?
With Screen Time, blocked apps stay greyed out on the home screen. TaskBlue makes the chosen apps invisible during focus: they are gone completely and come back afterwards. Instead of counting minutes, every focus hour takes plastic out of the sea.
When does focus run?
Whenever you like: at set times such as school hours, automatically at a place such as school, in the morning after the alarm, or at the tap of a button.
What is the BlueTag, and what if it gets lost?
A small key ring that comes with TaskBlue and stays with you. A scan with the BlueTag brings the apps back early. If it gets lost, you end focus with the parent PIN or one of the three emergency exits.
How does TaskBlue get plastic out of the sea?
For every focus hour, a fixed amount goes to projects against ocean plastic that we support together with the WWF. These projects recover lost fishing nets, for example, or stop plastic from reaching the sea. From the cost per kilogram, we calculate how much plastic your focus hours make possible. That comes to up to 5 kg a month per family. The 5 kg is a calculated figure. Your contribution goes to the projects as a whole and, converted at their costs, equals this amount.
