TaskBlue or Norton Family? A comparison for parents
Norton Family is strong on the web: it filters sites, shows search terms and YouTube videos and has a dedicated School Time mode. According to Norton, though, it can only block single apps on Android and Windows, not on the iPhone. That is exactly what TaskBlue does: it makes distracting apps disappear from your child's iPhone at set times or places.

What is Norton Family?
Norton Family is the parental control service from Gen Digital, the company behind Norton. It runs on Windows PCs, Android devices, iPhones and iPads, but not on Macs. Parents set allowed times, daily limits and browsing rules in an app or the web portal and get reports covering the last 30 days. In School Time mode, the sites your child needs for school stay open.

- Detailed reports on websites, searches and YouTube videos from the last 30 days
- A dedicated School Time mode with a list of allowed sites for school

When Norton Family is the better fit
Safe browsing is your main concern, you'd like reports on websites and searches, and your child also uses a Windows PC or an Android device.
When TaskBlue is the better fit
Certain apps on your child's iPhone, such as games or social media, should disappear completely at set times or at places like school.
Can you use both?
They barely overlap: Norton Family looks after browsing, TaskBlue after distracting apps at certain times. We haven't tested whether both run smoothly side by side on one iPhone.
