TaskBlue or Unpluq: two apps with a physical key
Unpluq Family suits you if you already use Apple's Family Sharing and want one plan for several phones. TaskBlue suits you if focus should start on its own at places like school. Either way, the key stays with you.

What is Unpluq?
Unpluq comes from the Dutch company Unplug Technology B.V. in Rotterdam and runs on iPhone with iOS 16 or later and on Android with NFC. At its heart is the Unpluq Tag, a battery-free NFC tag that unlocks blocked apps. With Unpluq Family, parents decide which apps stay open and when, and keep the Tag themselves. It works through Apple's Screen Time, so your child needs to be in your Family Sharing group.
Where Unpluq is strong
- A dedicated family product: the Tag stays with you, and one plan covers up to three phones or as many as you like.
- Other barriers to choose from besides the Tag, plus a free version.
- A European company that says it does not sell data and shows no ads.

Frequently asked
How is the BlueTag different from the Unpluq Tag?
As objects, hardly at all: both are battery-free NFC tags that stay with the parents and unlock blocked apps. The difference is in the app. TaskBlue also starts focus by place, at school for example, and is set up directly on your child's iPhone. Unpluq Family works through Apple's Family Sharing and covers several phones with one plan.
Does TaskBlue renew automatically?
The yearly plan does not: you pay €49.99 once for twelve months and decide afterwards. The monthly plan at €9.99 runs until you cancel. More on the pricing page.
