TaskBlue or JusProg? What parents should know
JusProg and TaskBlue do two different jobs: JusProg filters websites that don't suit your child's age, and TaskBlue hides distracting apps at set times. If both matter to you, you can use both.

What is JusProg?
JusProg is a free youth protection program from JusProg e.V., a non-profit in Hamburg. It filters websites by age levels from 0, 6, 12 and 16 and runs on Windows, Mac, Android and as its own browser on the iPhone. The Windows and Android versions are officially recognised under Germany's youth media protection treaty; the iPhone version is not.
Where JusProg is strong
- Free, with no ads, no in-app purchases and no sign-up.
- Officially recognised as a youth protection program in Germany on Windows and Android.
- Light on data: no log of your child's browsing, and checks run on servers in Germany.
- Age levels with lists like fragFINN, and unknown sites stay blocked up to age 12.

When JusProg is the better fit
Your main goal is to keep your child away from websites that don't suit their age.
When TaskBlue is the better fit
You worry less about websites than about apps that distract your child during homework or in the evening.
Can you use both?
Yes. On the iPhone, JusProg is a separate browser with a youth protection filter, and TaskBlue hides the apps you choose during focus. So that your child only browses in the JusProg browser, JusProg recommends blocking Safari and other browsers in the iPhone settings.
Frequently asked
Can JusProg block apps on the iPhone?
No. JusProg itself says the app cannot technically control or block other installed apps. On the iPhone, JusProg is a browser with a youth protection filter.
Is JusProg officially recognised on the iPhone?
No. The Windows and Android versions are recognised under Germany's youth media protection treaty. According to JusProg, the iPhone version has not been part of that recognition so far.
Does TaskBlue filter websites by age?
No. During focus, TaskBlue blocks the apps, categories and websites you choose, and platforms like YouTube, Instagram or TikTok in Safari if you want. TaskBlue has no age filter for the whole web; that's what JusProg or the content restrictions in Apple's Screen Time are for.
