Lights out, without the nightly argument

You set bedtime once, say from 8:30 pm to 7 am. TaskBlue then locks the chosen apps every evening by itself. In the morning they're back, and at night you no longer have to check whether someone is still chatting.

Sound familiar?

Lights are meant to be out at nine. At eleven, there's still a glow under the duvet. In the morning your child is tired, and in the evening you have the same argument as yesterday. Taking the phone away works sometimes, but it feels like control to both of you.

How to set it up

  1. 1

    One window overnight

Create a schedule from evening to morning. TaskBlue knows it ends the next day. You can choose different times for school nights and weekends.

  2. 2

    What stays open at night

Alarm, sleep music and Phone keep working unless you pick them. What gets locked is whatever keeps them up.

  3. 3

    PIN against late-night changes

With your 6-digit PIN, the schedule can only be changed with it. After five wrong tries, entry is locked for five minutes. You can also end focus with the BlueTag from your plan.

What works well

Start a little earlier

Let focus begin half an hour before lights out. That leaves time for a book or a chat.

One rule for everyone

If the grown-ups check their phones less at night too, the rule gets easier. Write it down in a family media agreement.

Plan weekends separately

Fridays and Saturdays can run later. Give them their own schedule instead of suspending the rule each time.

Not too early in the morning

If focus ends after breakfast, the day starts more calmly. On school days, 7 am often works well.

And the sea?

Every focus hour funds the recovery of about 100 g of ocean plastic, up to 5 kg a month. Your child can see in the app each morning how much has added up.

Frequently asked

Will the alarm still go off?

Yes. TaskBlue only locks the apps you pick. Just leave the Clock app out.

Can the schedule run past midnight?

Yes, for example from 8:30 pm to 7 am. A schedule lasts at least 15 minutes.

What if my child needs to reach someone at night?

Phone and Messages stay open as long as you don't pick them.
